New Mortal Kombat X NOT YET OUT BUT COMING SOON ON PS3 AND PS4

Gameplay

Like previous entries in the series, Mortal Kombat X is a fighting game in which two players fight against each other using a variety of attacks, special moves, and gruesome Fatalities. The energy meter, first introduced in the previous Mortal Kombat game, once again allows players to perform techniques such as "X-Ray" special moves. There are also plans for fully connected online functionality.
Similar to NetherRealm Studios' previous title, Injustice: Gods Among Us, fighters are to interact with the environment, bouncing off areas to reposition themselves or using parts of the environment as weapons. Each fighter is to have three different variations, each featuring a different set of moves they can use during the match. For example, the character Scorpion is to feature a "Ninjutsu" variation in which he wields dual swords, a "Hellfire" variation which relies more on fiery special moves, and an "Inferno" variation which allows him to summon hellspawn minions to aid him in the fight

PLOT

The game is said to include a new, original and non-linear storyline "showcasing some of the game's most prolific characters including Scorpion and Sub-Zero, while introducing new challengers that represent the forces of good and evil and tie the tale together. It was announced the story would begin at the end of the previous game and then eventually transition to 25 years into the future, placing emphasis on aged veterans, new characters and the next-generation offspring of the previous fighters.
Along with incumbents Scorpion and Sub-Zero, four new fighters were announced when the game was revealed: D'Vorah, an insect-like woman who controls insects; Ferra/Torr, a pairing consisting of an armored dwarf-woman and a giant masked brute; Cassie Cage, the daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade; and Kotal Kahn, an Aztec-inspired "blood god" described by series creator Ed Boon as the new emperor of Outworld. According to Boon, the game's main antagonist has yet to be revealed but is said to be a "surprising returning character".
The return of Raiden was confirmed at EVO 2014. Before it was officially announced, GamePro Germany revealed that Kano would be another returning character from the series.
